Animal testing for cosmetics is not a thing of the past.  More than 80% of the world still allows animals including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats to suffer and die in a variety of cruel and unnecessary cosmetics tests for the sake of new cosmetics.  Many countries do not have adequate animal welfare legislation in place, and some even see animal experiments as a source of income.  

Response

In a global market it is important to ban animal testing for cosmetics to avoid testing simply moving around the world to countries with no effective laws.  Cruelty Free International is working to end animal testing by mobilizing an international network of animal protection organizations to call on governments around the world to ban animal testing for cosmetics for good.
